چکیده
Abstract In the present work, response of composite hybrid laminates made carbon and glass fibers in different stacking configurations was tested under low-velocity impact loads. Experimental drop tests were conducted on three sequences rising energy levels. The results from assumed for development validation a numerical model reproducing each sequence all levels, response. validated investigated occurred damage mechanisms, their distribution panel thickness extension plane laminate. Polymer matrix composites used in different industrial applications due to their enhanced mechanical properties and lightweight. However, these materials are subjected to friction and wear situations in some industrial and automobile applications. Therefore, there is a need to investigate the wear properties of polymer matrix composite materials. This article emphasizes the dry abrasive wear be...
متن کاملDynamic Characteristics of Joined Steel and Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Plastic Tubes: Experimental and Numerical Investigation
The fundamental frequencies and mode shapes of steel and carbon fiber–reinforced plastic (CFRP) cylindrical shells with steel inserts were investigated using finite element analysis and modal testing. The free-free boundary condition was tested with modal testing using the roving hammer method and verified by finite element analysis using ABAQUS. The results show good agreement between the test...

This report deals with the experimental investigation of using large deformable FRP, ± 45° oriented fibers, in concrete-filled fiber tubes (CFFT) under axial cyclic compressive loading. In addition, this report presents finite element modeling (FE) of CFFTs with large rupture strain FRP (LRS-FRP). The LRS-FRP is made with polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) fiber...
متن کاملModeling of Dynamic Behavior of Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) Composite under X-ray Radiation
Carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) composites have been increasingly used in spacecraft applications. Spacecraft may encounter highenergy-density X-ray radiation in outer space that can cause severe damage. To protect spacecraft from such unexpected damage, it is essential to predict the dynamic behavior of CFRP composites under X-ray radiation. In this study, we developed an in-house three...
